In my previous weblog I mentioned that we were featuring Giclee Canvas' in our What's New For Fall Promotion. Some folks might not be totally sure about that process is all about.
The first challenge is the pronunciation of the word Giclee. Wikipedia says it is commonly pronounced " zhee-clay", is an invented name for the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using inkjet printing.
Wikipedia goes on to explain that " a giclee, is an individually produced, high resolution, high-fidelity, high tech reproduction done on a special large format printer. Giclees are produced from digital scans of existing artwork. Also, since many now paint only digitally, there was no "origional" that can be hung on the wall. Giclees solve that problem, while creating a whole new vibrant medium for art."
You can read the whole story at this link to Wikipedia, Giclee.
You can also see our great selection of Giclees in our Interactive Catalog.
